Frequently Asked Questions
Qn. How often do trades signals appear? How many that are actually traded?
It doesn't trade often. 5-10 stocks a year.
Qn. What is the no winning vs no losing?
60% winning. Average profit vs loss is 4:1
Qn. What account size to start with?
Bare minimum is $5,000...the more the better.
Qn. What percentage of trading capital should be committed to one trade?
If the trading capital is less than $15,000 then commit 100%. Once your trading capital is over $15,000 then trade 50% and when you get over $50,000 divide by three.
Qn. What are the maximum loosing trades in a row?
Not 100% sure...but I do recall 4.
Qn. Can I back test the systems using Metastock 8.0?
No. How can you tell Metastock to keep out of bear markets and trade my momentum stocks?
Qn. What is the best way to buy? Do I need to do it in the USA, or can I do it from Holland, or any country?
Any country. I trade via Schwab from the U.K. There are no restrictions on where to invest from.
Qn. Since you are from London and trade in the US market, does that mean that you alway put trade orders during the after market hours? Do you need to be online during the US market hours?
No. In fact it's detrimental to watch the market during the day. I manage all my trades prior to opening in the U.S. This is not day trading.
Qn. What does your paid-website offer me exactly?
My Momentum stock trading system, weekly stock management and software to help you...plus books and reports.
Qn. What is your recommendation for a trade watching program?
You do not need a trading software program. I give you some charting software...but you really should not watch stock prices intra-day.
Qn. Why are you revealing your system?
The whole web site is just another business for me. Revealing the workings of my method will not destroy it. I honestly believe this. With literally thousands of different ways to trade the stock market and tens of thousands of vendors out there this system will never be over traded.
Qn. Your momentum Stock Screening tool, is it similiar to the free one I can access at Yahoo?
No. The Momentum Screener is included in the cost of M.S.T.S. . It is not like Yahoo's free screener. I designed it myself especailly and exclusively to find Momentum Stocks on the buy and sell side.
Qn. I really do not have a lot of time to follow the stock market. Ten to twenty minutes at night is about all the time I have. Is your system ideal for this?
Yes. Then M.S.T.S. is an ideal choice for you. Ten to fifteen minutes at night, after the market close is all you will need. There's really no need to follow the market during the day. We can leave this to the "stressed" out day and very short-term traders :-)
Qn. Mark,
I am interested in joining your stock picking service and was wondering how to go about it. Do I need to purchase your trading system in order to have access to your email service? If so, its no problem. I can't tell you how frustrated I am with trading in and out of stocks all the time, trying for a small gain. Your way sounds so much better and less stressful. My goal is to reduce my trading and research time from 2-3 hours daily to less than 20 minutes. Please let me know how to join your email service.
Ans. Hi Tom,
Yeah I am with you. I find trading for small gains SOOOO frustrating. It drives me crazy. It's simply not for me.
Last year we made 70%+ in TIE and HANS.. on the weekly method. I can't tell you how much ,more relaxing and satisfying longer term trading/investing is for your account and your mind.
Oh and 20 minutes a day is far too long as well. Try 15 minutes a WEEK.
Yes, to receive my weekly stock picks you have to buy MSTS http://www.stressfreetrading.com but it's free forever once you are in :-)
Good luck.
Qn. Since your website stressfreetrading.com is a bit dated, how is MSTS doing this year?
Ans. Earlier on great. Up over 100% from Jan to April. Since then nothing. I have been flat since mid April (2006).
I am hoping the next few month produce another bull cycle and we can make money again...:-) In fact since mid August w ehave entered anenw bull cycle and I am seeing new momentum stocks appearing.
Qn. Hi Mark. Does your firm offer training in Forex and other commodities? I am in London and am keen to find seminars, clubs, etc specifically Forex-related. It all seems to be in USA.
Thanks,
Neil
Hi,
My weekly momentum method does not...but the Trapline Method does. http://www.DayTradeForMoney.com
